Nissan LEAF Dream Drive aims to lull babies to sleep.

Parents have long used the method of driving their baby around to help lull them to sleep.

“When looking at why parents put their faith in this method, Nissan discovered that 70% of parents put their trust in the power of the vehicle's movement, when in fact it is the soothing sound frequencies of an internal combustion engine (ICE) that is the biggest contributor to a child falling asleep in the car.”

With today’s new breed of low emission electric vehicles, many of those soothing sounds of ICE’s have been lost.

“Combustion engines transmit a sound frequency; a combination of white, pink and brown noise varied in tone – creating an orchestral soundscape that is especially soothing and comforting to infants."

With this in mind, Nissan created The Nissan LEAF Dream Drive.

“The sleep album for babies mimics the peaceful sound frequencies of a humming combustion engine – trusted to put children to sleep, at no CO2 emission cost.”

Parents can connect their smartphone to their Nissan LEAF through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to enjoy the lullabies - available on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube and Deezer.

Nissan is living up to their slogan of “innovation that excites” through the intentional and effective use of audio; as championed in their new campaign, and by making parents lives a bit easier while also being considerate of their carbon footprint.
